Chewing Wax:
There seems to be some sort of consensus on this one.

Chewing Wax:

(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 1:44:20 pm)
Mrs Dr GB:
Poor Theo. I expect he was happy to tell his fellow loungers about his new bird. And now look.

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - It may seem like science fiction, but scientists say they have developed a technology that enables a monkey to move a cursor on a computer screen simply by thinking about it. A computer program, hooked up to the implanted electrodes, interpreted the monkey's thoughts by tracking flare-ups of brain cell activity. The computer then moved a cursor on the computer screen in accordance with the monkey's desires--left or right, up or down,``In fact,'' Professor Frink said, ``we found that he became quite reluctant to move his arm to reach once the cursor was introduced Apparently it was easier just to think about reaching, or sleeping.''

Q:How many Oregonians does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A:Three. One to screw in the lightbulb and two to fend off all those Californians trying to share the experience.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 5:54:26 pm)
Heruka:
Yeah, I'm sure Oregon has a lot to offer. The Cleveland metro area has a larger population than that whole shitty state.

:
Portland
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 7:34:32 pm)
Right again:
Oregon (2000): pop. 3,421,399
Cleveland is the second largest city in Ohio, with a population of 478,403. Cleveland's population has been declining since the 1960s.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 8:33:01 pm)
DecoyStats:
Upstate New York's cities and metropolitan areas lost population on the same scale as declining parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, said Paul Mackun, a Census Bureau geographer who studied population changes among the nation's 280 metropolitan areas.
An exception is Rochester, where the metro area gained 3.4 percent to reach almost 1.1 million.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 8:39:44 pm)
Heruka:
Actually, if you read my pst correctly, I said the "metro area", which has a population of close to 4 million.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 8:53:11 pm)
Decoy:
That's whats fun about statistics.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 8:59:38 pm)
Heruka:
Oh yeah, Cleveland's population has been decling since the early 50's as a driect result of the automobile. The same reason why the population has declined in almost every urban environment. Really, if you're going to try tp prove me wrong, at least try to be more subtle in your twisting of the stated facts of the original statement.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 8:59:48 pm)
Decoy:
Metro? That's like 8 counties and includes Akron, a city in its own right.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:04:02 pm)
Decoy:
Drew Carey gave it a big boost, and the hall of fame was genius. Ok, I see 3M numbers for the Cleveland-Akron "Metroplex." I was wrong!
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:09:47 pm)
Heruka:
It's something like under 40 miles outside Cleveland. The Metro area also consists of Canton, Lorain and Mentor. All cities, in their own right.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:11:14 pm)
Decoy:
Its lIke they count Niagra falls in Buffalo population, It gets the federal money that way, I guess.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:13:28 pm)
Heruka:
I don't even know why I'm taking such abuse seriously from someone who lives outside Rochester. Since when did you become a lover of Oregon?
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:14:17 pm)
Decoy:
What, Poorland? Let us drink and laugh and send them 36% of our pay; and then we'll drink and laugh some more.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:15:21 pm)
Decoy:
I used to live in the middle of the city, so I can have an opinion; I'll dish it out to every city that takes in more than its people pay out in taxes.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:17:25 pm)
Decoy:
I'm pickin' a fight, I guess. Bored - Mrs. Decoy went to the arena with the girlfriends. Lacrosse or something.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:18:47 pm)
Heruka:
I lived downtown also. Only for a short while. Isn't that most of the urban areas? They're money pits.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:20:02 pm)
Heruka:
Lacrosse? Ha! That's funny. Not me. Big Betha is watching tv in the other room. I think she's watching Americas Most Wanted.
(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:21:34 pm)
Decoy:
Urban Flight.

(Sat Feb 9, 2002 - 9:39:54 pm)
