I think he does well in NYC too. Reviewing the troops is what he does. When he gets all fired up in the morning he snips at the cats making them crazy running around after them, chomping at them. Its funny.

Heruka:

"It just doesn't add up," said Campus Womyn's Caucus chairwomon Mia Petrovich, 20. "If it's true, that would imply that there is some aspect of collegiate revolutionary Marxist-feminist lesbian identity that is, in some way, less than completely genuine. And that's something my most heartfelt convictions will simply not allow me to accept, at least for the next few semesters, anyway."

Heruka:
It's true. The 90's, if you were white and knew it, tried to be what we were in the 80's. They tries too hard. It becane vogue to be unvogue, suddenly, everyone was trying not to be vogue, so the followers did what followers do, they all got piercings. It was just stupid.

Ypu see, in the 80's we were digging the alternative music scene. College radio, but then it went mainstream. And they tried to continue it's alternative style, Nirvana is considered alternative. They sold 1000 billion cd's. Alternative became mainstream, and at that point, ceased being an alternative. But people still played like it was an alternative. It was an alternative to being an alternative. And the post-modern thought that prevailed also became mainstream. Suddenly, every socially inept 23 year old female was wearing black lipstick, fake fangs and hanging around gay men.

Myk would understand.
(Mon Feb 4, 2002 - 3:01:49 pm)

Myk is a goth... remember?
(Mon Feb 4, 2002 - 3:02:10 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Ah. Your point exactly.
(Mon Feb 4, 2002 - 3:04:18 pm)

Heruka:
It's like being a hippy in 1967 as apposed to 1970. In 1967 they were upper-class yuppie kids who were bored. In 1970, the real yuppies had all gone back to school and the ones that were left were just stoner dropouts.

Heruka:
Something tells me I should leave. 'Ta!
(Mon Feb 4, 2002 - 3:13:18 pm)

Myk Murphy:
Heruka is correct in his analysis regarding music. Alternative ate itself at the end of the 80s, and not everyone was in on the joke. The day the music died, i suppose.
(Mon Feb 4, 2002 - 3:15:18 pm)

Queenie:
I think you think about trends a little too much, H. Just like what you like.
