Myk Murphy:
oh yes, we had a very pleasant chat. she's very nice. my friend showed up and got to meet her, too. we spoke about franco, the drive down to dc, the music, etc....
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:06:42 pm)

Sleepy:
How exciting. Did you take 700 photos with your digital camera?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:07:54 pm)

Myk Murphy:
daria was quite annoyed that the band was advertised as "jerkwater" rather than "KCQ". i see that bela mentioned that mixup before she left to come to the show. daria mentioned it at least 3 times between songs. it was kinda amusing.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:08:15 pm)

Sleepy:
First name terms, I see. CW will be so jealous.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:08:41 pm)

Myk Murphy:
no, i'm afraid there were no photos. it's not easy being a secret squirrel like you. so how are you, love?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:08:42 pm)

Sleepy:
I'm fine thanks, you?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:09:40 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i did not speak to any of her bandmates, for the record. daria's celebrity is such that we all know who she is. giggle.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:09:45 pm)

Sleepy:
Did bela take any photos of you?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:09:51 pm)

Myk Murphy:
pretty well, although things could be better. mrs murphy had to fly off this weekend to attend a funeral in new orleans. i would have gone, too, but between cat care and a family get together that couldn't be moved, i stayed in town. fortunately, this also allowed me to see kcq.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:11:01 pm)

Sleepy:
Who will be your next board conquest? We must take bets.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:11:23 pm)

Myk Murphy:
as far as i know, no photos were taken anywhere. i remained cognizant of activities around me like that.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:11:31 pm)

Detlef Sping:
Myk bought hundreds of beers.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:11:37 pm)

Sleepy:
Oh, sorry about Mrs Murphy's trip.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:11:56 pm)

Sleepy:
Maybe franco is a secret-camera disguised as a small dog. That whirring sound and blinking is now all too obvious.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:12:44 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i joked with bela that i easily had the record for meeting the most loungers. we spoke about the "london birds" like you... i mentioned that you all were very nice.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:12:50 pm)

Myk Murphy:
franco does have a sort of android sort of look. he couldn't possibly be real. the new york boys will be pleased to know that bela is more lovely than her photos here would suggest. the guy sitting next to me at galaxy hut approved of her.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:14:31 pm)

Sleepy:
We tried to please.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:14:34 pm)

Sleepy:
In response to earlier.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:15:00 pm)

Sleepy:
As cute as the Handsome Family's Rennie Sparks, eh?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:15:18 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i've never seen the members of the handsome family. they are a mystery. perhaps i'll look them up on the magical world wide web. so as evening descends on london, do you have any grand plans for the evening?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:16:22 pm)

Sleepy:
I've been out and now I'm back. Doors locked. Shutters down. Alarms active. Guard dog poised.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:17:41 pm)

Myk Murphy:
yes, security is everything. it's sleeting here in dc. i cancelled a trip out. it's cozy here in the basement of the house. watching the last redskins game of the season. they are so lame.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:19:21 pm)

Sleepy:
It was foggy here today. There's something very surreal about fog. It feels like old Dickensian London or something.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:20:20 pm)

Myk Murphy:
yes, the pea soup london of old. that image pleases me.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:21:19 pm)

Sleepy:
Three people walked out of the film I saw today. That's always a good sign. Lately I've noticed that people have taken to commenting about films to their friends, during the film. It's like people talking at gigs. Why can't they shut up?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:24:17 pm)

Myk Murphy:
unfortunately, i think that film chatter has increased due to the advent of home video/dvd etc. people feel too comfortable, and they blur the lines that divide the private from the public. throw popcorn and junior mints at them.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:26:20 pm)

Sleepy:
That's what I think - the home video thing. I'm surprised they don't get up halfway through the film to look for a kettle.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:27:52 pm)

Myk Murphy:
so what film was this? i just saw "run lola run" on bravo. that was interesting. the only person making comments during that film was me, since mrs murphy was busy doing something else and couldn't watch the screen for the german subtitles. ja!
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:29:15 pm)

Sleepy:
That's supposed to be a good film. I saw something called Playtime. It was strange but interesting.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:30:22 pm)

Myk Murphy:
heh heh, and the kids are even worse, since they watch almost all movies at home. their rare trip to see harry potter or whatever is no doubt a decibel-busting event.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:30:23 pm)

Myk Murphy:
playtime? is this another one of your "high art/porn/etc" things? was roman polanski involved?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:31:16 pm)

Sleepy:
One of those films that was probably viewed by 3 people upon its release but which is now regarded as high art. Porn? I think not.
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:32:59 pm)

Myk Murphy:
is this not a handsome family?
(Sun Jan 6, 2002 - 2:33:37 pm)
