NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY:
THIS OSCILLATING PATTERN TO THE SNOW BANDS WILL BE THE DOMINANT FEATURE FOR THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS AS A SERIES OF SHORT WAVES ROTATE AROUND THE CLOSED UPPER LOW. THE MIGRATING NATURE OF THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL HELP TO KEEP ACCUMULATIONS DOWN A BIT ACROSS ANY ONE AREA. THE MAIN EXCEPTION WILL BE THE CITY OF BUFFALO AND THE NORTHERN SUBURBS WHICH WILL RECEIVE MULTIPLE SWEEPS FROM THESE MIGRATING SNOW BANDS WITH SUCCESSIVE PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW AT RATES OF 2 TO 4 INCHES PER HOUR.
