He earned it
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:07:58 am)
Chewing Wax:
Who wants to try and send me some absinthe?
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:10:28 am)
Chewing Wax:
Wormwood, which contains the psychoactive thujone, is the hallucinogen that has given absinthe its legendary and enigmatic history.

Cushca:
I thought you weren't drinking until Christmas. Or are you just preparing?
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:13:35 am)
Decoy:
Christmas plans are shaping up then?
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:15:23 am)
Decoy:
Just to review:
Absinthe is strong alcoholic liqueur made with an herbal extract including wormwood (Artemisia absinthium). It is an emerald green drink (due to the presence of chlorophyll) which is very bitter (due to the presence of absinthin, which has a bitterness threshold of 1:70,000) and is therefore traditionally diluted with cold water which is poured over a perforated spoonful of sugar into a glass containing a shot of absinthe. The drink then turns into an opaque white as the essential oils precipitate out of the alcoholic solution, forming a colloidal suspension. Absinthe was once popular among artists and writers and was used by Van Gogh, Baudelaire, and Verlaine, to name a few. It appears to have been believed to stimulate creativity and to act as a curative and aphrodesiac.

That sounds like any old liqour to me.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:18:59 am)
:
I think my head is going to burst if I stare at a computer screen any longer.. Either that or the microwave is leaking again.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:20:10 am)
Heruka:
See below.

I just read that vermouth has thujone in it, Its Martini season!
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:21:49 am)
Heruka:
Hell with vermouth. That stuff kicks my ass.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:23:12 am)
Heruka:
Is it irononic, yesterday I had nothing to do, and wanted to do nothing so I buged around the house all day, leaving only for walks and to the butchers to pick up dinner. Today, I don't want to be here,, but I have to write this stupid paper for someone. Meanwhile, my dislike for sitting here is causing my to goof off more, leaving my time being here more than it ctually needs to be. How sad.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:30:13 am)
Cushca:
I have e-mailed two people today. Neither of them have replied. I'm a little disappointed, I have to say.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:30:24 am)
Heruka:
I think Wax should formally invite Balazs here, to the lounge.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:31:12 am)
Decoy:
And that would be interesting how?
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:32:32 am)
Heruka:
Not as intesersting as needed. He's a great man. We need to show appreciation. Even a King needs to speak to his subjects at times.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:38:49 am)
Heruka:
I'm free!!! I'm free!!!
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 10:54:01 am)
Detlef Sping:
To a good home.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:06:44 am)
bela:
Uugh, I'm so bored.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:07:08 am)
Cushca:
One person has replied to my e-mail. But still nothing from the other one. I'm keeping score here.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:11:56 am)
Myk Murphy:
It`s always fun to return after a short absense, simply to see where conversations wander.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:17:23 am)
Mrs Dr GB:
If one of those e-mails was to me, Bird, forget it. Naff all chance of e-mails coming in or out today. All hail the mud hut.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:21:20 am)
Decoy:
Mrs Dr GB, surely you can spare but a few moments for Cushca?
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:31:19 am)
Cushca:
No. Not you Bird. Our e-mails are a given. These were to different people. And as I say, only one has replied. And the other has not. Very disappointing. As I'm sure you can imagine.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:34:09 am)
bela:
Well you have to send out a hell of a lot more if you want substantive response. What kind of girly are you sending out 2? Your approach needs to be polished. Look at me, when I get in to work, the first thing I do is go down my list and write chit chatty emails to about 7 or 8 people, I know at least 3 will get back to me right away, 3 within the next hour or so and then the remaining by the next day, and if its the Brit girl, well it could be a month. There you go.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:42:09 am)
bela:
Then, whoever I can't reach by email, I make the telephone calls.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:43:15 am)
Mrs Dr GB:
It's not that I ignore her, Decoy. It's that the system here is very slow, and is battery powered. If someone's walkman batteries run out they take the ones out of the computer system and then we're scuppered.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:44:44 am)
Mrs Dr GB:
Enough techno-slaggery. I'm off home. Good evening, everyone.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:44:55 am)
Cushca:
Good evening Bird.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 11:53:06 am)
Myk Murphy:
My email system sucks worse, i can assure you. I have to wait until i get home to retrieve large attachments. No way to get them here. Ugh.
(Wed Nov 28, 2001 - 12:13:29 pm)
Myk Murphy:
Later, gb.
