No, and the term would be "laid off" in my case. My boss likes me, he wouldn't fire me...I don't think. I have a bunch of vacation days I have to use up before the end of the year and I'm not really doing anything except possibly going to DC in December.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 10:56:46 am)
Cushca:
We weren't fired. But I may be soon.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 10:57:42 am)

Good thing, I heard they shut down all the subways this morning. Chris had to walk from 14th Street to 59th or something. I had to call him this morning and bitch at him. Nice eh?
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 10:58:13 am)
Chewing Wax:
Well, that's good then.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 10:58:19 am)

I really really need to get my eyebrows waxed today. I no longer have monkey eyebrows, its more like gorilla at this point. I have eyebrows growing up on my forehead.

So soon everyone will be unemployed. Now I don't feel so bad. We're going to the Southwest in January. Vegas, then side trips to Phoenix and possibly L.A.. Perhaps into Mexicp. I need a new back leather jacket made from horse hide.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 11:20:10 am)
Mrs Dr GB:
Jesu. Get them waxed and buy yourself some tweezers. Each day just tidy them up. It makes perfect sense.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 11:27:20 am)
Decoy:

(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 11:49:43 am)
Queenie:
Maybe I will live in a mobile home. They make them really nice these days. Better than this crummy house. All this place has going for it is it's 100+ year old woodwork and it's location. Other than that, it's really pretty crappy. So I've been thinking of learning how to lay tile and just tile over all the ugly.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:03:19 pm)
Queenie:
See? Look at this
Much nicer than my kitchen.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:04:47 pm)
Queenie:
And they come with an optional tobacco roof garden.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:05:19 pm)

(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:06:23 pm)
Queenie:
Those are nice houses and they cost half what I pay in rent every month.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:07:12 pm)
Heruka:
Everytime I go to the Sothwest they try to get me to stay there. Like a cult type thing. But I resist. Although tempted, it's just too damn hot. And next summer my father is retiring and moving there. He selling off hi possessions. He recently sold some property he had in Colorado. It was a ranch. And old barn or something was on it. It was butted against a state park. I hoped he would give it to me. But nope. I also have a brother who holds something like a 100 acres north of Flagstaff. I don't get along with him though. Hmmm.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:07:22 pm)
Myk Murphy:
Lunch?
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:08:07 pm)

My Uncle Dick is dying. Very sad. He's got late stage alzheimers (sp?) and also bone cancer. My aunt can't care for him any more so she's putting him into a home today where he can get 24 hr. care. They've been married for 62 years.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:08:59 pm)
Heruka:
Lot rent too Queenie.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:09:38 pm)
Chewing Wax:
And those aren't trailers, they are manufactured homes. I know, it's a fine point, but it's true.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:10:21 pm)
Queenie:
True. I don't own any land.
(Mon Oct 22, 2001 - 12:10:35 pm)
Queenie:
They call them "mobile homes" on the website.
