Decoy:
Death or Victory, eh? I gotta think that the US can sterilize that place, even if the Soviets couldn't. I mean, we have better guns. :-þ And the Bert thing, what a bunch of moronic loosers. Its too bad there's all this death going on. They would be laughable.

(Thu Oct 11, 2001 - 10:02:21 pm)

Myk Murphy:
jimmy, you sick little weasel. somehow, i actually miss your face when i lounge via phone. in the mail, back at my parents' house, i got a "late ticket" notice from 1994. the District of Columbia will not rest until they get their $20. out of pure DC kindness, they are waiving the $25 in late fees. of course, i'm still not going to pay. you can't give a parking ticket to someone for parking in a no parking zone when the sign was missing. as i recall, hazily, there was only a pole, but no sign. it's the principle, isn't it? oh, wait... this makes me the cheap person in the lounge, right?
(Thu Oct 11, 2001 - 10:44:46 pm)

Queenie:
No I'm still the reigning queen of cheap.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 12:10:40 am)

Heruka:
I no not what's going on! I didn't plant this thing. It just grew amongst my flowers. Should I weed it out? I never pay parking tickets. Fuckers. They should go arrest a criminal.

Mrs Dr GB:
You know what fills me with a sense of optimism and joy? Signs at the dry cleaners for a one hour service. I love the idea of having somewhere to go that's so utterly fabulous that there's only one outfit you could possibly wear. And it's nearly time to start getting ready! The clothes must be cleaned within the hour! Simple pleasures.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 3:58:29 am)

Mrs Dr GB:
Remember this: "I'll bitch-slap that Nazi hag to the other side of Marble Arch if you like. You only have to ask."? ...... Well. The Nazi hag is back. I have not employed her, I must tell you. Some idiot let her back in here. Though luckily not in my office. There would be hell. Yes, yes there would.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 6:31:30 am)

Decoy:
Careful there, Cool Hand Myk.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 7:00:26 am)

Myk Murphy:
Is there no statute of limitations on a parking ticket? Good morning, fellow vehicular miscreants!
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 7:45:38 am)

Sleepy:
"lobotomized"? Fucking cheeky mare.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 8:08:18 am)

Myk Murphy:
Perfect weather. The monuments look especially pretty today.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 8:38:19 am)

Myk Murphy:
A new york mare, but not giuliani. Giggle.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 8:41:02 am)

Mrs Dr GB:
Sigh. 2.00. Time to come back from lunch. But wait: oh yes, that's right, I wasn't allowed to go to lunch today. Buggering heck.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 9:04:44 am)

Sleepy:
Can it be that an actor was actually called Pacifico Astrologo?
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 9:04:52 am)

Myk Murphy:
Nice name! No lunch? Unionize!
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 9:08:33 am)

:
"The cinema is a captivating, if complex, route to the past. As a popular art, set in the economic, cultural and political spheres, film inevitably bears the birthmarks of its passage into light. As a technological art, crucially defined by its capacity for the automatic registration of sights and sounds, it is composed of pieces of the culture it represents. In order to recover the full discourse that films advance, therefore, the student of film must be at once a historian and an interpreter of art, able to shift constantly between the objective examination of the context of a film and the subjective immersion in the experience it offers."

Exactly. That's where I got it from.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 9:54:08 am)

Sleepy:
Oh, didn't see your comment. That film's on at the cinema and I was just checking to see how long it was and then, then, that name.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 9:54:47 am)

Sleepy:
No wait. You were talking about that big quote. Duh. Help me. I have the tiredness.
(Fri Oct 12, 2001 - 9:55:35 am)

Chewing Wax:
And I'm out of my mind. Just ignore me. Are you going to see it? It's supposed to be good. Sad, and bleak, but poetic and moving.
