WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (CNN) -- Investigators are considering the possibility that a letter sent to the mailroom of a Florida tabloid publishing company could have carried the anthrax bacteria that killed an employee, a law enforcement source confirmed to CNN.
Employees and recent visitors to American Media Inc. are being tested for anthrax and given preventive antibiotics after the one worker died, another was exposed and traces of the deadly bacteria were found in a workstation.
But health officials searching for clues Tuesday to the origin of a strain of anthrax found in a building in Delray Beach stressed that they had no indication of any widespread infection.
"I'm asking the people of Florida to remain calm," Florida Health Secretary John Agwunobi told CNN. "At this point in our investigation, there is nothing outside of the building that leads us to believe that anyone else is at risk. However, our investigation is ongoing."
Robert Stevens, 63, died Friday of inhalation of anthrax. He was a photo editor at The Sun, a supermarket tabloid published by American Media. Traces of anthrax were found in his workstation, according to both Agwunobi and David Pecker, the publishing company's chief executive.
Meanwhile, doctors in northern Virginia said that preliminary tests had indicated no anthrax present in a man who presented himself to a hospital Monday night saying he had connections with American Media.
"All the preliminary smears and the antibody tests that were done in Richmond by the state lab are negative," said Dr. Thomas Ryan, director of emergency services at Prince William Hospital in Manassas.
"I recently spoke to his infectious disease attending physician, and we both feel that [anthrax] is an unlikely diagnosis at this point."

I don`t think the guy here in virginia has anthrax. Yes, it looks like it was sent by a letter.

I recall some concern about certain militia groups and crazy people getting a hold of anthrax. And remember that frightening rash of packages and letters that had notes that said something like "You've Just Been Exposed to Anthrax" in them. I doubt this has anything to do with the September 11th attacks.

Do these jobs require backround checks? I say we blow Most Arabs straight to hell. Just my opinion. It's comical the way the Bush keeps stating this is not a war on Islam, but a war on terrorism. Meanwhile the camel jockeys keep saying it is a war on Islam.
