Chewing Wax:
What happened to Gregg again?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:17:25 am)

Heruka:
Everyone's a hero these days. Apparently, just doing your job makes you a hero. We've become such an emotionally driven, sappy society. It's embarrassing.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:18:24 am)

Chewing Wax:
It's that damned Bette Midler song. Fills me with rage.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:20:39 am)

bela:
Ha ha. I know what you mean Heruka. I was watching tv one night and they were interviewing women on the street, asking them who they thought of when they thought of a female hero, or powerful woman, they all said Oprah Winfrey. Not one said Sandra Day O'Connor, I expected at least one to say that, or Betty Friedan or something.

bela:
Gregg died. He was 40. I met him when I was 19 and he really straightened me out. I looked up to him more than anyone ever. He was like a brother/father to me. I totally worshipped him. I've never met anyone so cool in my whole life and I never will.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:23:15 am)

Chewing Wax:
No votes for Margaret Thatcher?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:23:31 am)

Chewing Wax:
Sorry about Gregg.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:24:08 am)

Heruka:
It diminishes those who go out of their way to actually better society. Those firemen and coppers aren't heros. They were just doing their job. Crab fishermen have the most dangerous job on earth, are they heros? No. They've got balls, but they aren't heros. Are taxi drivers heros? No. It's stupid is what it is. Enough of that. I'm no longer talking politics or anything like that. Just simple stuff. Anyone here like Bingo/
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:25:15 am)

Heruka:
.argaret Thatcher was English.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:25:49 am)

Chewing Wax:
No. I don't like bingo.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:26:14 am)

Myk Murphy:
The band is on hold, for now. The national guard called up our guitarist for airport protection. It is a safe job, at least. A local job, too.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:28:51 am)

bela:
Why is it heroic being a crab fisherman? I don't get it. Yeah, I guess when you decide to be a fireman or a cop you have to expect that you may die doing your job.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:29:51 am)

bela:
What kind of band are you in Murphy? Too bad about your guitarist.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:30:57 am)

Heruka:
I'm just stating that it's not danger that makes people a hero, it's going out of their way. North Pacific king crab fishermen have the most dangerous job on earth.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:33:31 am)

Heruka:
He's in DC's most hard hitting polka band.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:34:07 am)

Junior Madison University?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:36:59 am)

bela:
Junior Madison University? I won't be playing another gig for awhile. That reminds me, I have to call walter, I hope hes ok. I'll be in DC next year, actually Daria was saying something about Ohio, but I wasn't listening. I think I may be going to Ohio soon. But no more NYC gigs. Hey Myk, you wanna play in NYC?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:39:19 am)

Chewing Wax:
Dolly Madison fruit pies?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:39:25 am)

Chewing Wax:
Why no more NYC gigs?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:39:52 am)

bela:
Because we're "going on hiatus" Sick of NYC. We don't really have any new material except for Sugartown and this accoridion solo song I play called Automne. So we want to finish recording our album. I'm going to Poukeepsie the weekend of the 19th to do my parts, I can't wait. See some hicks and trees.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:41:41 am)

Myk Murphy:
The band is kinda late 80s prog rock, a little shoegazing and sometimes not so much. Love & rockets meet the church, i guess. Oh, and speed polka.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:43:44 am)

Sleepy:
Is Taxi Driver a good film? I'd don't think I've seen it all the way through. I'm doing a film course and the tutor is Italian. Oddly enough we are going to be focusing on Martin Scorsese.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:45:19 am)

Heruka:
I see Myk's legacy still carries on
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:46:04 am)

bela:
Are you smoking crack? Taxi Driver is a great film.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:46:26 am)

bela:
Oh, ok, I see. 80s prog rock. Interesting....
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:47:19 am)

Heruka:
It's ok.I don't think i liked it as much as bela. Haven't seen it in years.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:47:32 am)

Myk Murphy:
Play new york? Sure, sounds good. James Madison... heard of him?
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:49:11 am)

Chewing Wax:
I've never watched Taxi Driver all the way through, but I caught the end a few weeks back. Now that's some violence. You just have to admire it.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:51:04 am)

Myk Murphy:
I have a legacy? Am i charged extra for that? Yes, bela, we rock. And roll.
(Tue Oct 2, 2001 - 11:51:51 am)
