Theory: The "bela effect" is that when you say something plainly (no matter how gross), in a way that doesn't come from out of the norm dysfunctional sensibilities, people just like you. Or am I missing something?

I think that some folks here may think Queenie is some freak craving self realization and affirmation, so they may be offended by a context that she throws over all her stories, pictures, whatever. But bela, and the English birds as well, are generally up front, aren't needy and you just take it for what it is worth.
This theory obviously needs more work.
