Myk Murphy:
here's a paraphrase... a Washington Post article on an exchange between Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson in which the two well-known Christian conservatives appeared to suggest homosexuals, abortion-rights supporters and liberal civil-rights activists were partly to blame for the terrorist attacks that toppled the World Trade Center and destroyed part of the Pentagon, killing thousands.

Chewing Wax:
We had it comming.
(Sat Sep 15, 2001 - 11:40:25 pm)
Myk Murphy:
here's most of it: The comments came as Falwell was appearing as a guest on Robertson's daily 700 Club program. Both expressed their sorrow and outrage over the attacks and advocated a strong response to the terror. Then Falwell elaborated on who, in addition to the terrorists who perpetrated the attacks, was responsible for them. God, he told Robertson, had protected America "wonderfully these 225 years. And since 1812, this is the first time that we've been attacked on our soil and by far the worst results."Throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools," he said. "The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad."[T]he pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way — all of them who have tried to secularize America," Falwell continued, "I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'" "Well, I totally concur," responded Robertson.

Myk Murphy:
quite clever of falwell to defuse any argument that religious extremism was at fault here. i don't suppose he would want to argue against religious intolerance and extremism.

I don't hate them. I just really dislike them. Good night.

I've come to the conclusion, that everyone is goofy. Liberals and extreme rightwingers alike. You want repusive comments, read the recent Fegmanix mailing list archives. Some of them also believe "we had it comming". Only for a different reason. The same reason orange believes. I don't know. People just living their lives. They didn't have this comming. They didn't deserve this. That is all I'm commenting on the subject. I'm in Pink Floyd mode. I can't stop listening to them. Anyone know anything about VCD's?

Fegmaniax are notoriously freaky people. I discovered first hand the effort made by RH's publicity folks to keep Fegs far away from him. Of course, that was back when he had a label looking out for him.

I like those old Pink Floyd albums. I think they are really good.

Sorry to drag this out but if there is a war, there are going to be more strikes in NYC all over the place. Yesterday Chris was at my house and he, or someone he knows, knows the brass that was on top of that bio crackdown in Brooklyn a few years back. They were cooking stuff up in the basement. He told Chris that there are bio weapons sitting in NYC/Brooklyn - wherever, in the hands of everyday working Arabs, deli workers, cab drivers and that they're just waiting for the word from the higher ups. Its totally scary. Theres nothing they can do. I'm so sick of hearing this Nostradamus bullshit too. Give me a break....

Have you heard that they aren't letting any more volunteers in to help because people have been looting the dead. Taking jewelry and stock bond certificates. Can you believe this? And we want to defend these people?

On a happier note, I have a scanner now and Franco has two flannel outfits, I want to take a couple of izone pictures of him and scan them up. I don't know how to use this scanner yet though. It came from a dot com that went bust.

I should call walter and see if hes ok. His shop is downtown near the WB bridge. I'll see if he wants that dinner plate from the 3rd reich too. Hey, at least my friend Feargal called me from Ireland a few times, he was really scared that I was hurt. Very strange, I haven't heard from him in years and I got 2 calls from him. He says Ireland is shocked.

My sister is flying to LAX this morning. Her scheduled first flight was cancelled, now she's re-routed through ATL (!). They said the first plane had a broken winshield defroster. I guess that could be true. So far so good.

Decoy:
I think the liberals are gonna see how much the righties want to take care of this. Does anyone honestly think that after 4000 years of this bullshit that we can do it diplomatically? Doesn't it go back to Abraham's sons or something?
VCD? As in the whitebook CD standard? It like the precursor to DVD. like a MPEG1 DVD that is written on a CD instead of a DVD disc. It is considered obsolete but almost all DVD players still support it.
(Sun Sep 16, 2001 - 10:10:53 am)
Decoy:
And. you can make a VCD in a regular CDR drive with the proper software - its only VHS quality, but its a nice way to store the home movies.

An opened and previously viewed copy of the My So Called Life blue box set recently sold on eBay for $152. I still haven't listed mine. I just can't bear it.

hello all. by "real" news source, heruka, i mean one that is not constantly laughed at as a "soft" paper, like usa today. it's a paper that never fails to disappoint me. lovely pie charts, of course. as for bio weapons, bela, i don't think that these things are ready to go at a moment's notice. one can't just make one as easily as a pipe bomb or something like that.
(Sun Sep 16, 2001 - 2:47:39 pm)
Myk Murphy:
as for VCD, it's still a popular video medium in the far east, where DVDs have been slow to take hold due to VCD.

Someone just said that atheists are lazy and the only reason they reject the idea of god is because they don't desire to do good and following god's laws is too hard for them on account of they're so lazy.
(Sun Sep 16, 2001 - 3:31:30 pm)
Heruka:
I don't read the USA today. I just thought you would have brought up CNN or the NY Times, which both are really manipulative and publish erroneous 'facts' in an attempt to what appears too be mislead the public. I'm deabating to get Floyd at Pompeii on VCD. The record store has it. Cheney is giving a very good interview on NBC with Tim Russert. Isn't Russer from Buffalo? Andhow, they break in to go live to Dubya, and it gets awful. He rerally needs better speech writers or something. He's not ver articulate at all. On a sad note, the marina pulls the boat out this week. >:o(
