Chewing Wax:
Ah, I see. Adding the "and you" to the quote throws the whole thing into confusion.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 4:10:32 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Not to mention taking it completely out of a very weird context. For the history of this quote and others, please go to: http://www.chewingwax.com/newlounge/messages/arc/393.html
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 4:18:39 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Thanks. Goodnight. It's only Wednesday.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 4:20:48 pm)
Queenie:
A weird context is the best context.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 5:04:45 pm)
Decoy:
Some context, any context, some intelligible context. I want to believe the creator of this movie is doing it for a reason. Its just gah otherwise. I disapprove of that weird-to-be-weird thing that the kids do these days.
Alas, Wednesday.

bela:
I disapprove of most things kids do these days. I was at a show of a friend on Sat night and these kids were causing all sorts of ruckus. The boys next to me were building a card house style stack of beer bottles on the table. One boy next to me turned to me and asked if I was in NYC going to college. Ha ha ha. I told him I was 35 and I had a child. College was long over for me. In my own weird way I took his comment as a compliment. He told me he was 21 and just graduated. I told him that I didn't understand the youth of today at all.

Chewing Wax:
I am finding it almost impossible to not sweat. The least movement at all dresnches me. Ahhhh summertime. I think I'll sit very very still. I made more Gaspacho. That's good eating.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 5:46:17 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Ah, that's what all the noise has been all day.WARPED TOUR. Noon Wednesday. Rancid, Pennywise, Rollins Band, Less Than Jake, Dropkick Murphys, Kool Keith, Me First and more. LaSalle Park, foot of Porter Avenue.

Chewing Wax:
Who cares? Pat Benetar is free in Lafayette Square tomorrow. I'm all over that action.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 5:57:26 pm)
m©:
The 'and you' does alter the context and tempo but, what the fuck. nothing to lose fillings over..mmm Gaspacho.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 5:59:05 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Nothing to lose fillings over is right. I just didn't get it. But now I do and I'm a happier person for it. You a big fan of Dropkick Murphys?
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:03:38 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I think that's them I hear blaring on the summer breeze.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:04:14 pm)
Chewing Wax:
I'm going to go watch the news or something. Auf.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:04:59 pm)
Queenie:
How can you say that mooch's line in the dialogue is out of context, when you've never read it?
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:40:46 pm)
Queenie:
I have a dropkick murphy's 8X10 on my wall, though I've never listened to them.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:41:23 pm)
Queenie:
I hope none of you see my movie. Except for you Wax.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:41:41 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Thanks. I actually meant the lounge context not the movie context. The lounge context where GB and Cushca were talking about meth and mooch figured out maybe that meth wasn't the same in England as it is here. That's all. You're quote is fine.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 6:59:28 pm)
Queenie:
Well who gives a crap about what context it was in on the lounge? What difference does THAT make?
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 7:16:29 pm)
Queenie:
You know who really annoys me? People who spell freak with a ph, as in "phreak". What the hell is up with that?
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 7:17:16 pm)
Chewing Wax:
Yeh, I hate that too. It makes a difference in understanding it. Understanding it. Nevermind.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 7:28:19 pm)
Queenie:
"For all its ponderousness, the tuba is an instrument of suddenness. It can never be suitably introduced. It asserts itself as a kind of non sequitur. Dolorous and joyous within a turn, it is capable of unadulterated sentimentality. Yet its emotions cannot be savored exactly because they refuse to be modulated or adjusted. The tuba blurts."
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 7:51:50 pm)
Chewing Wax:
It's true
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 8:24:38 pm)
Queenie:
I know from experience that entering a room armored with an tuba causes people to doubletake. There is a moment of startled curiosity, a mild repulsion, then indifference, like discovering and leaving behind a horseshoe crab on a beach.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 8:54:57 pm)
Chewing Wax:
That's kinda funny
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 9:03:23 pm)
Myk Murphy:
i totally missed today's activities, seemingly based on little more than amphetamines and cushca copulating with a perspiring and possibly permed pearl jam performer. perhaps it was a good day to be swamped at the taffy factory.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 9:16:36 pm)
Queenie:
I once had the bad judgment of jumping into bed naked except for the tuba strapped to my chest after a vigorous bout of lovemaking.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 9:56:44 pm)
Myk Murphy:
that must have been a kodak moment.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 10:02:32 pm)
Queenie:
I forgot to put quotes around that to indicate that it was not wirtten by me.
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 10:10:36 pm)
Queenie:
wirtten = written
(Wed Aug 8, 2001 - 10:10:45 pm)
Myk Murphy:
now i'm disappointed. goodnight, young lady.
