Soap dish:
You can bloody well have him. More trouble than he's worth. Day and night, poke poke poke.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:10:42 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I'm going to be rich
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:12:28 pm)

Chewing Wax:
Come on. Send me the disk.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:31:14 pm)

bela:
No.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:34:20 pm)

Chewing Wax:
You're all naked on it and stuff aren't you? It's filthy I bet.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:36:11 pm)

bela:
No, I'm not, no one is. I actually have no idea whats on it. I'm not sure if I've ever even looked at it.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:40:04 pm)

bela:
So I'm not going to send it to a complete stranger to look at. Especially you. My pictures will end up in some stupid story creations for years to come on this board and who knows where else.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:45:52 pm)

Chewing Wax:
I can't believe you don't trust me. And I'm not a complete stranger. You've hurt me deeply.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:47:02 pm)

bela:
Sorry, thats the way its got to be. Who cares anyway. Their not that interesting I'm sure.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:50:27 pm)

Chewing Wax:
You're the one who brought it up. I didn't expect you to send me your pictures. I was just joking. You've got to learn to lighten up or something.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:51:58 pm)

bela:
I feel sorry for the guy that plays Blazz. Does he know what hes part of?
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:51:58 pm)

bela:
Oh, ok. I guess I should learn to lighten up.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:53:34 pm)

Chewing Wax:
That guy who play Balázs gets what he deserves. And that's his real name, so I don't think he's playing him.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:56:36 pm)

Chewing Wax:

Satyavir, who lived at Basant Road under Sihani Gate police station steps, was killed on Thursday morning. He had gone into a brushwood area to ease himself at 7.30 am. Due to an overcast sky and spells of rain, it was still dark at that time. His maternal uncle, Rajender, told The Pioneer: "When Satyavir did not return even after an hour, we started searching for him". When the family reached the spot, it was told that a "monkey shadow" was seen grappling with a squating man.

"Heruka:At what point in life should one stop the "gig" thing? Just asking..(Thu May 17, 2001 - 4:02:53 pm)"

When no-one plays any more. When every music venue is closed. When you go deaf. Dumb question.
(Thu May 17, 2001 - 5:54:23 pm)

Heruka:
I don't think that's a dumb question. Not at all. The point is, I find it strange and a little pathetic that a 30 some-odd year old man is going to 'gigs' like they're still 17. At what point in life does a person stop living like a teenager. Music is music. It's entertainment. Nothing more. I'm not living for the next REM album. I'm not putting down music. It's great to be entertained. I'm simply questioning those who live to be entertained. Life is not about entertainment. This is a general statement. Agrowing number of people are doing this, living to be amused. I've noticed in recent times that my interest in music has waned. At this same time my alcohol consumption has dwindled. I hate to admit it, but I'm growing up. I'm not calling music childish, but it is for the most part a young persons thing. I enjoy going to concerts. But my life will not end if I never go to another. Or by another cd. Actually, this is subject that bothers me. America is a society that is becoming more and more geared towards entertainment. Everything from the internet to sports. Someone told me our society was almost paralleled by Rome's in its development.

Who can talk about such trivial things when there's a savage monkey-man on the loose?
(Fri May 18, 2001 - 2:26:30 am)

Cushca:
Heruka, I really do wonder if you're in any way aware of just how much of a twat you sound. Just about everything you write here sounds like you're reciting something you once heard a much more intelligent but incredibly, incredibly pompous person say. It's really quite sad.
(Fri May 18, 2001 - 3:58:13 am)

Mrs Dr GB:
Wax is going to be so thrilled to know that you're back to your usual self Cushca. It'll make his week.
(Fri May 18, 2001 - 5:15:02 am)

Mrs Dr GB:
As for music being childish - that rather depends, doesn't it. A 30-some-odd man following Steps round the country would be sad. And slightly paedophilic. But if music is for kids, ergo, Messrs Stipe, Mills, Buck, Hitchcock et al should go home and be quiet. And put some slippers on. And that wouldn't be any fun at all, would it. And actually, I think that if music is your thing, then that's fine. Some people are addicted to gigs, if addiction is what we'll call it. Other people are addicted to washing their cars. Or taking crack. Or sleeping with whores. Or stealing knickers off washing lines. I think music-chasing is a much better choice, on the whole.

orange:
music is childish. so is riding a bike. remember being a child, when anything was possible and there were still myteries in the world. reality was something to have later, right now you could have fun, enjoy yourself without artificial stimulants. grugs and alcohol weren't required, fun got yuo igh. remeber the buzz you got as a kid, your energy was boundless. There is nothing to replace that, but seeing a good gig comes close. the moment when the hairs on your neck stand on end as the music grabs you. the thrill of hearing your favourite song, or a new favourite played. the electricity of being close to a band you love. hey kids it's summer time to grow your hair and let your muscles show. the dandelion wine is all that remains from those bygone years. when the music leaves you jaded, then it's time to go, then you are old.

i wish i could type properly. and i wish music didn't leave me jaded.

Well said, orange. Typos or no, you are quite correct.

About music, I mean. Obviously.

There's been an explosion in Israel which has killed and maimed and is of course a terrible thing. But it did produce a great quote from a witness: "I saw a young man who looked like an Arab wearing a huge blue jacket and I said, 'Look, that's a terrorist'.
