Odds are increasing that the government will close in March. No way the GOP aligns in the House and the Dems will demand a cessation of hostilities and rollback from doge. The public is likely to blame trump and GOP.

It used to be unthinkable until the mid 1990s when Republicans tried it out as a bargaining tactic. It backfired. People want a lean government but they don't like their services cut. The entire government doesn't close at once, but you have some employees forced to continue working with little more than a promise that the debt will be reimbursed.
